History of Cottage Treasures House
The house that the Cottage Treasures Tea Room & Gift Shop is located in was originally built as the parsonage for the First Baptist Church of Ringgold, Georgia. Around 1965, the Peters family purchased the house and relocated it from the church property to its current site on Cleveland Street. The daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl Peters, Shirley, and her husband Tony Henson, lived in the little house for about 15 years before moving to their current residence in Catoosa County. The house was then rented residentially until Peggy Williams leased the house in May, 2000. Cottage Treasures Gift Shop was subsequently established in June of 2000.
"I had been looking for a little house in the city of Ringgold, for 6 months,
when Shirley spoke with me about this house. As I walked in the front
door, I knew this was where God wanted Cottage Treasures to become
a ministry for Him. It is the Lord's shop, He allows me to manage it. If
it were not for Him blessing it every day, the response for this shop would
not be what it has been for the past 12 years." -- Peggy Williams
